In a search for a most interesting way to destress? Try dancing!

We all know that stress is a silent killer which causes many diseases, starting from increased inflammation in the body to overall psychological distress.

But what if we tell you that you can avoid these awful effects just by adding a bit of dance in your daily routine!

Science has explained when the body feels good, the mind does, too.  And that may be the exact explanation why dance has the ability to act as an excellent stress reliever!

Any type of physical activity releases neurotransmitters and endorphins which help to reduce stress.

Because of that, after a good workout or sweat session the endorphins cause the body to feel calm and optimistic.

The endorphins also help in improving the quality of sleep, so if you are tired of your sleepless nights just start dancing!

Dancing relieves stress but it offers many other benefits too. Dance is a total body workout, it promotes weight loss, it increases flexibility, it builds stronger bones and tones muscles, it can help people to stay fit and happy regardless of their age.

It improves the condition of your heart and lungs, it improves balance and builds your awareness in space, it contributes to better general and psychological well being and increases self-confidence too!

If you are new to dancing, or if there is a specific type of dance you are interested in (for example, hip-hop, reggaeton etc), you might want to learn proper technique by joining a dance class.

This can help you keep from getting injured, and it is a great opportunity to meet new people and get good exercise at the same time.

But if you are uncomfortable about your dancing, you may prefer to dance at home, because if you are worried about what others think of your dancing, you won’t relax enough to let go of all the stress you are feeling.

Incorporating dance as a stress relieving routine you may consider the time of day too.

If you want to dance to get energized and focused for a work that awaits you, you should do it at the beginning of the day.

If you want to dance to relax and calm down or have troubles sleeping at night, then of course you should do it at the end of the day and forget about energising tunes and moves, instead opt for slower, calmer dancing.

But regardless of what style or time of the day or place you choose; dancing elevates mood and combats stress guaranteed!
