- Get active
Even if you’re not professional athlete or you’re out of shape, exercise can still be a good stress relieving technique.
Being active can refocus your mind on your body’s movements, and improve your mood. You may try walking, jogging, gardening, biking, swimming, or anything else that gets you active. Physical activity can boost your feel-good endorphins and enhance your mood and sense of well-being!
- Eat healthy and avoid unhealthy habits
Eating a various, balanced and healthy diet is an important part of taking care of yourself. Some people may deal with stress in a wrong and harmful way, for example drinking too much caffeine or alcohol, smoking, overeating but none of those unhealthy habits can really help you.
- Laugh more
A good sense of humor can help you feel better, even if you have to force a fake laugh. When you laugh, it not only lightens your mental load but also causes positive physical changes in your body. So read some jokes, watch a comedy or hang out with your friends, as much as you can do something that can makes you laugh more.
- Make social connections
When you feel stressed and irritable, your initial instinct may be to separate yourself. Instead, reach out for people and make social connections.

- Get sufficient sleep
When you are under high levels of stress your sleep can suffer. Because sleep is the time when your brain and body recharge, the quality and amount of sleep you get can affect your mood, energy level, attention and complete functioning of your body and mind.
If you have sleep troubles, try to fix them as soon as possible, for example make sure that you have a quiet, relaxing bedtime environment and routine, listen to soothing music, put electronics away, and stick to a consistent sleeping schedule.
