Plants for good health and less stress

Indoor plants are very helpful in creating a relaxing, restful ambiance in any home or office.  Not only that they can beautify any room or space, but they have the power to decrease our stress levels too.

For example, Dutch researchers have found that hospital patients with indoor plants in their rooms had lower stress levels than patients without them.

Spending time caring for your plants is also a great way to help you relax, and get rid of stress and tension.  In order to properly look after plants, time needs to be spent away from popular electronic devices, allowing you to safely “zone out” and chill.

But not all the plants act in a same way.  Some of them have the priority over others because they can also purify our air from toxins.

According to experts here are the best plants for cleaner air and lower levels of stress:

1.Bamboo palm

The attractive bamboo palm is listed on NASAs list of top clean-air plants with a purifying score of 8.4.  You can place it in shade or indirect sunlight, but just make sure that it does not lack water.

2.Aloe plant

Aloe is very interesting plant, it can help clear the air of chemical pollutants, and when the amount of damaging chemicals in the air becomes excessive, the plants’ leaves will show brown spots. If you decide to get Aloe you should know that it grows best with lots of sun.

3.Philodendron

Philodendron is particularly good at absorbing xylene from the air.  It grows with moderate water and sunlight.

4.Peace lily

The gorgeous peace lily is a beautiful flowering plant. It does well in shade and cooler temperatures, and it can reduce the levels of a number of toxins in the air.

5.Gerbera

Gerbera has beautiful flowers and can instantly calm the body and mind, and at the same time it can brighten any room.  It can also remove chemicals like benzene from the air.
