How to set meaningful goals and actually achieve them!

Many people are setting goals, but only few actually manage to achieve almost everything they set their mind to.

According to experts one of the most important things for achieving any goal is to set a good goal that has a deep purpose behind it.

Research shows that working hard towards a goal that has a purpose, and it truly matters to you is one of the best ways to enhance your life.

High performance coach B. Burchard talks about what it takes to set your mind to something and actually achieve it.

Burchard says that most people give up when challenged by a hard work, or they overcommit and burn themselves out because they don’t think long-term. It’s a shame, because according to this expert with a little guidance and the right mindset, anybody can set good goals and actually accomplish them.

To set a meaningful goal first you must identify a purpose.  And the purpose should be something that really matters to you at a deep level. You should get as specific as possible, and that will keep you motivated on the path to success.

You will also be happier and more fulfilled when you’re working toward something that really matters to you, because overcoming obstacles in pursuit of something valuable gives your life meaning.

Once you’ve chosen a meaningful goal, it’s time to figure out how to accomplish it on a practical level.

When working on achieving a goal you have to know, when you’re succeeding and when you’re failing and therefore you must have a practical, measurable criteria for success.

The next logical step is to set a timeline for your goals. Experts are advising to set a clear schedule, and make it challenging enough that you fail 20-40 percent of the time, because that means you’re pushing your limits. But you must aim to reduce the amount that you fail, week by week.

It is advisable to set three or four goals for yourself at a time. Less than three means you’re too invested in each goal, and if you do fail, you’re more likely to feel devastated and give up.

As you can see, advice on how to set meaningful goals and actually achieve them is pretty simple, because all you have to do is to get a clear picture on what you really want, and why, and how you’re going to get it.  If you follow this very simple and logical rules you might be even surprised by what you can do!
