Do not allow chronic stress to impact your quality of life!

Chronic Stress can significantly impact your quality life.

It causes the body and mind to shut down and the person starts to act as if has no control over himself or herself anymore.

Work performance may start to decrease, you may become irritable and angry at work and at home, you may become depressed and stop enjoying life altogether.

Chronic Stress can physically and psychologically drain you over a period of time and if not controlled then it may result in many health issues like anxiety, high blood pressure, insomnia, decreased libido, along with a compromised immune system etc.

Luckily Chronic Stress is not something which cannot be addressed, and here is what you can do about it:

Proper Sleep – it is very important to have a good sleep-wake cycle. So, try not to drink caffeinated beverage few hours prior to going to sleep and try to make your bedroom as cosy and comfortable as you can.

Physically Activity – physical activity is extremely important, it is good for your health and wellbeing and it leads to production of endorphins which will make you feel relaxed and happy.

Even a daily walk for about half an hour a day can have positive impact on your health and stress levels.

Healthy Diet – a balanced, varied and healthy diet is an important step towards a stress-free life.

Avoid fast foods and opt for protein rich foods, lots of fruits and vegetables for fibre, and carbohydrates to fuel your energy system.

Listen or play music – music is one of the best and most effective relaxation techniques that one can try to overcome stress and calm the mind.

It can take you away from all the stressors that you are having and help you relax.

Meditate – Meditation and yoga are one of the most popular destressing and relaxation techniques.  You can try them by enrolling in a class or on your own in the privacy of your home with a personal couch or by following an on-line tutorial.
