Happy thoughts are best weapon when stress is the enemy!

Is it true that thinking “happy thoughts” can calm you down and decrease elevated levels of stress?  Experts say: Yes, it is!

So instead od worrying non stop try to think of something that will make you happy!

It has been proven that thinking about the things, people, places, and experiences that make you happy has the power to release the tension.

Thinking positive thoughts also can help and decrease stress because your brain is focusing on something nice other than the stressor itself.

If nothing comes to mind, try for example to imagine yourself in vivid detail as if you are doing something you enjoy.  Try to visualise the happy scene, hear yourself laughing see yourself smiling try to experience the emotion of joy.

Or you can dig back in your past and try to remember some happy time in your life or a funny memory.

Try to recall the place, add as much details as you can, what you saw, what sounds did you hear or which aromas did you smell, and most importantly what feelings did you have in those moments of joy.

Sometimes you may experience sudden feelings of happiness and joy even just by thinking about how you will treat yourself later.

For example, think about the big or small reward you will give yourself when finishing what you are doing, or even for successfully calming yourself down during your stressful time.

Sometimes lost optimism, joy and motivation can be refreshed by reading or remembering some motivational or calming quote.

Here are some of them:

“Rule number one is, don’t sweat the small stuff. Rule number two is, it’s all small stuff.” – Robert Eliot

“The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another.” -William James.

“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.” –Nido Qubein
