Planning your time, can only take 5 to 10 minutes out of your day, but it can make the entire day much less stressful and more productive.
If you jump from task to task with no definite plan or goal in mind, you can quickly get overworked and excessively stressed.
Do not delay getting organised even if you never used to be…start now, and make today the day that you implement planning as a part of your life!
This is what you can do:
- Know the day’s schedule – make an exact schedule for each day, because knowing in advance what is in store for you each day, can greatly decrease your daily stress.
In getting your schedule organized, remember not to overbook yourself. Plan only as many activities as you have time for.
- Prioritize tasks – Some tasks are more important than others, those tasks should be at the top of your must do list. Scheduling time should also mean prioritizing. As items are completed, they can be crossed off the list to highlight what remains to be done.
- Pick exact time of each day as your free time – Setting a schedule also means scheduling me time, when you can take a break and unwind.
It is a good idea to schedule in some downtime each day of the week, because if you’re always working and working and thinking about serious staff 100% of your time…you may be less efficient overall because sooner or later you will get very tired and it may sabotage the quality of your life.
It has been proven that only ten or twenty minutes of each day, spent walking, or exercising, or spending time with your friends or with yourself and a good book can help you to destress and recharge your energy.
